Manchester United star Luke Shaw has put his £2.6m Cheshire mansion on the market, complete with a home cinema, indoor pool and jacuzzi.

The footballer bought the five-bedroom property following his £30million transfer from Southampton two years ago, a move which made him Britain's most expensive teenage footballer.

And it seems that Shaw decided to live up to that title, buying himself this lavish property which boasts seven bathrooms, three garages, a steam room and gym. There is also a stylish kitchen which opens straight into a pool room and leisure suite, containing a swimming pool.

Shaw's decision to put his house on the market has prompted speculation that he could be planning to leave his club.

An England international, Shaw has recently returned to top flight football after suffering a horrific double leg break following a challenge against PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League in September.

He was a regular in United's team last season and played in both of England's Euro 2016 qualifiers shortly before he was injured.

The 21-year-old defender said he feared he would never play again, but returned to Carrington early to train and get back to fitness.

He and Jose Mourinho have had a frosty relationship in the past after the manager tried to sign Shaw while he was at the helm of Chelsea FC.

He later criticised the then-teenager for demanding too much money as part of a transfer from Southampton, where he was paid £120,000 per week. Shaw joined Manchester United a short time later.

He said: 'If we pay to a 19-year-old boy what we were being asked for, to sign Luke Shaw, we are dead. We would have killed our stability with financial fair play and killed the stability in our dressing room.

'When you pay that much to a 19-year-old kid – a good player, fantastic player – but when you pay that amount of money, the next day, we would have had players knocking on our door.'

In an interview after Man Utd's win last week, manager Jose Mourinho told MUTV: 'Long-term injuries are the worst thing in football. But the kid was great in summer - no holiday, working every day at the training ground to try to be ready for this.

'I was expecting him to start pre season and have some limitations. The limitations are a little bit of weight and a little [lack of] sharpness but the physical point of view is good and more than that the mental point of view is good.'
