Manchester United legends have been accused of exploiting footie fans by charging up to £14 for a pie and mash dinner.

Cafe Football, which is run by Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Nicky Butt and Gary and Phil Neville, has been slammed by diners for pricing out normal fans.

Chicken curry pie, vegetable pie and beef and Bovril pie all cost £14 at the chain, which has cafes at Old Trafford, Manchester and Westfield Stratford in London.

Grant Leppard tweeted: 'Cafe Football #westfield upmarket #pieandmash not sure the @whufc_official fans will fork out £14 for it next season?'

Pies are a stable of football stadiums around the country, and are regularly priced well below £5.

A survey of prices in 2016 found that the cheapest pie was available at Chelsea's Stamford Bridge for £2.50.

Meanwhile, the most expensive cost £4.10, at West Ham's London Stadium, which was slightly more expensive than Manchester City, Tottenham and Crystal Palace.

A spokesperson for Cafe Football said: 'We feel this is competitively priced and good value for food that is quality and locally sourced and served in an ambient atmosphere.'
