Arsene Wenger believes that Petr Cech can replicate the success Edwin van der Sar achieved at Manchester United by helping Arsenal win the Premier League title.
Cech left Chelsea after 11 years at Stamford Bridge to join the Gunners this summer, with Wenger spending big to bring the 33-year-old goalkeeper to the club.
Van der Sar was 34 when United signed him in 2005, and he went on to win four Premier League titles, a Champions League crown and a host of other trophies during six successful seasons at Old Trafford.

And Wenger believes that is the kind of success that Cech can bring to the Emirates Stadium.
'His move is a bit like Van der Sar,' said Wenger. 'He went from Fulham to Man United but still had five or six years at Manchester United so I don’t see why he shouldn’t have a few more years.
'He’s very serious, he trains well, has no big problems. He has an intimidating presence, that is for sure. He makes the goals look small. That’s the kind of charisma he has. He is a big size.'
Cech played more than 300 times in the Premier League for Chelsea, and Wenger believes the goalkeeper's addition makes his current squad the most experienced at his disposal since their 'Invincibles' side won the league 11 years ago.

Van der Sar also won four Premier League titles with United, including his final one in 2011
'It’s certainly the most experienced squad since 2004,' said Wenger. 'There is better balance between talent and experience. We always have talented teams. But when you go into April you need some experience.
'The expectations are very high and that is understandable because you cannot win the cup and finish third in the league and then say "look, next year we want to do nothing".’
