Extra padding was installed around a television pit at Carrow Road for the visit of Everton on Saturday as Norwich played their first home game since Alexis Sanchez was pushed into a cameraman and advertising hoardings.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger claimed Sanchez could have been 'killed' when he appeared to be nudged by Ryan Bennett in the 1-1 draw two weeks ago.

And in Saturday's early Premier League kick-off, there seemed to be more protection for the player, and indeed cameraman, off the pitch.

Sanchez was lucky to escape serious injury after his fall, though he later limped off with a hamstring injury.

Bennett meanwhile was not cautioned, though Wenger was far from happy with the Canaries defender.

'Yes, I am unhappy with the push on Sanchez,' said Wenger.

'He could have killed him. First, of all it's dangerous to have a camera there; secondly, he didn't need to push him like he did.

'When he was pushed into the boards on the side of the field that did not shock anybody, the injury can come from that as well.'

Bennett, 25, tweeted after the match to give his version of the incident, writing: 'Genuinely was trying to stop not push Sanchez just to clear that up.'

Sanchez is set to resume training with the Gunners on Monday, and a return to action at home to Manchester City a week later is a possibility.

The Chilean later limped off with a hamstring injury and should return to Arsenal training on Monday
