Michael Carrick was wary to pin too much on the shoulders of new Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku but thinks the Belgian will be his side's main man next season.
The former Everton forward joined Jose Mourinho's men for £75million and will be expected to provide a cutting edge to United's attack.
Carrick believes the 24-year-old is capable of doing just that, predicting Lukaku will have a 'great time' next season.
Romelu Lukaku can be the main man at Manchester United, according to Michael Carrick
Carrick thinks the £75m man will be the primary attacking weapon for Jose Mourinho's side
'You don't want to look to put everything on his shoulders, but that is why he has been brought here – to help at that end of the pitch, to score and create goals,' Carrick told MUTV.
'Of course, he is going to be the [main] one we look to for scoring goals and I am sure he will.'
United will be fighting on all fronts next season, having qualified for the Champions League through their triumph in the Europa League final.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic provided a talismanic figure throughout the last campaign but having departed Old Trafford, Carrick thinks the club have secured another top talent with a huge presence.
'Listen, you have seen what he can bring to us. He is a big guy, he has got a big presence and he scores goals.
'That is what we are going to need from him, that is what he is going to bring and I am sure he will have a great time here,' he concluded.
The former Everton striker is a 'big presence and can score goals', said Carrick
