Nemanja Matic wants to push through a move to Manchester United following the arrival of Tiemoue Bakayoko from Monaco.

The Serbia international and his representative are understood to have held talks with Chelsea's hierarchy and expressed a desire to leave in the hope a resolution could be found by the weekend.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte though would like to have another midfielder as well as Bakayoko, especially as the France international is in danger of missing the start of the season following minor knee surgery.

Inter Milan have also shown interest in Matic but will struggle to match his salary and contract wishes.

Matic is 28 and United would be willing to offer him a longer-term contract to move to Old Trafford. Should Matic stay at Chelsea he may only be offered a two-year extension then faces the prospect of one year rolling offers as he would be over 30.

Jose Mourinho has discussed how he would like a more experienced player at the centre of his midfield to hold their position and protect his defence.

Roma's Radja Nainggolan has also been discussed by both Chelsea and United. Indeed, Chelsea had several offers rejected last season while United made an approach in February and again in May.

Roma insist he is not for sale but have yet to agree a new contract with the Belgium international and he is understood to be growing frustrated that it has not been resolved. Roma have now said a meeting is planned before Sunday to try and appease their star performer.

Manchester City have yet to agree a deal with any club for goalkeeper Joe Hart.

Newcastle United and West Ham remain in the running for the England international with both clubs looking to take him on loan.

The 30-year-old, who is contracted to City until 2019, wants to keep his options open with the possibility that Manchester United and Chelsea could yet lose either David de Gea or Thibaut Courtois over the next 18 months.

City would prefer a permanent deal but West Ham and Newcastle are only discussing a loan at this stage.

Claudio Bravo is also attracting interest at City with Napoli among the clubs to have discussed the Chile international. Napoli keeper Pepe Reina and free agent Victor Valdes have been mentioned as possible back-up options for City.

Crystal Palace expect to complete the £8.6m signing of Jairo Riedewald from Ajax despite late competition from Everton.

The 20-year-old Holland international is due in London for a medical. Newcastle and Tottenham had also expressed an interest.

Palace and West Bromwich Albion, meanwhile, are considering a move for free agent full-back Bacary Sagna who left Manchester City at the end of last season.

Newcastle have also been discussing a loan move for Liverpool winger Sheyi Ojo along with Middlesbrough.

However, there are understood to be a number of clauses involved including a set amount of appearances as Liverpool look to ensure the 20-year-old continues to progress.
