Manchester United's bid to land Ivan Perisic this summer has been met with fierce resistance by Inter Milan, and it appears to have left the winger out in the cold.

The 28-year-old has been strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford, with United keen to continue bolstering their squad following the summer signings of Victor Lindleof and Romelu Lukaku.

But with Inter ruling out any deal, Perisic appeared to shy away from a recent team photo along with his Nerazzurri team-mates.

Perisic's stance conjures of memories of Ashley Cole's team photo while at Roma

The Italian side posed for a photo at the Kronplatz mountain in Italy, and while the majority of the team huddled together for the cheerful looking snap, Perisic stood away to the side with his arms folded.

The photo brings back memories of another Serie A team photo with a 'hanger on' when Ashley Cole awkwardly stood to one side shortly after his forgettable spell at Roma.

Inter chief Piero Ausilio has dismissed the notion of the Italian giants losing Perisic this summer - with the 28-year-old back in pre-season training with the club.
