Alexis Sanchez fully commits in training as Arsenal star flies into tackles, does press-ups and acrobatics on eve of Chelsea showdown

Alexis Sanchez looked fully recharged following his extended summer break as the Arsenal star trained with his team-mates on the eve of the Community Shield.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger had been expected to rest Sanchez against Chelsea at Wembley in Sunday's pre-season showpiece but the 28-year-old might be ready to play on this evidence.

Sanchez was pictured doing press-ups, attempting acrobatic volleys and flying into tackles as Wenger put his side through their paces at London Colney.

Sanchez also looked happy and appeared to be thoroughly enjoying himself, amid ongoing talk about his future.

The former Barcelona man has been repeatedly linked with a move away, with Manchester City willing to pay him £320,000 a week.

But Wenger has insisted his main man will not be sold this summer, despite his contract having just 12 months left on it.

Gunners fans will no doubt be keen for Sanchez to face Chelsea in the Community Shield.

The Chilean scored in two victories over the Blues last season, setting his side on their way to a 3-0 win at the Emirates Stadium in September, before doing the same to help the Gunners beat their London rivals 2-1 in May's FA Cup Final.

Sanchez was not the only big name to train on Saturday as Wenger worked with a large group, including summer signing Alexandre Lacazette.

Many young players took part too, with the likes of Reiss Nelson and Joe Willock involved.
