Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette relishing 'rollercoaster' Premier League ride after scoring on his debut in 4-3 victory over Leicester

Alexandre Lacazette was delighted to begin his 'rollercoaster ride' in the Premier League with a goal in Arsenal's opening day victory over Leicester.

Olivier Giroud scored an 85th-minute winner to help Arsene Wenger's side come from behind to beat the Foxes 4-3 on Friday night.

Lacazette opened the scoring for the Gunners, barely two minutes into his first league appearance since moving to north London from Lyon for £53million.

The Frenchman was pleased with his goal-scoring introduction to the Premier League but admits he still has a long way to go before he is up to speed with English football.

'Scoring on your debut with your first chance is pretty good going,' the 26-year-old told the club's website.

'It was a rollercoaster ride but it went well,' he added. 'Obviously I'm still getting used to the English game, the positives and negatives, shall we say, but I'm learning. It's interesting.

'It's different to the French league, but I knew that already. It's up to me to adapt.'

Despite claiming he still needs to find his feet on these shores, Lacazette looked right at home in the Premier League when he headed home a Mohamed Elneny cross in the second minute.

It was the perfect start to life at Arsenal but Lacazette's celebration was understated. The Frenchman simply stretched his arms wide before being engulfed by his team-mates.

On why he didn't celebrate more, the striker said: 'I think it was still too early... that's how it came about but I think it was perhaps too early to celebrate because we didn't know how the match was going to pan out.'
