Manchester United rocketed to the top of the Premier League with a 4-0 demolition of West Ham at Old Trafford. 

Jose Mourinho kept up his remarkable record of never having lost a home game on a Sunday and Romelu Lukaku ran riot against his favourite opposition. 

As ever, Sportsmail were on hand to pick up anything you might have missed from the game.

Sombrero watch

Some blatant early season cultural appropriation among the West Ham fans at Old Trafford. 

I'm sure new signing Javier Hernandez spotted these two (below) in their traditional broad-brimmed hats and felt overcome with longing for Mexico, for enchiladas and for group waving.

You'd like to think if Mark Noble had signed for Mexican side Tigres, he'd be serenaded by 'knees up mother brown' — but probably not.

Thierry has a dig

The Sky Sports commentary team cut to Thierry Henry mid-way through the first half and the Frenchman delivered a cutting line.

When asked about Romelu Lukaku's performance he said: 'He's been pretty quiet so far — like the whole stadium.'

Of course, two minutes later the £75million signing slammed home the opener and Old Trafford erupted.

Mourinho's Sunday best

One for the stats anoraks — Jose Mourinho has never lost a home game on a Sunday in his entire managerial career.

The Portuguese has built fortresses wherever he's gone but frankly that record is ridiculous.

Mourinho labelled his United squad as the best he's ever worked with in his programme notes so maybe that record will stand for a while.

Some snaps are just perfectly timed and this is one of them. Edimilson Fernandes appeared to be giving birth to a praying Hernandez.

Before the game kicked off, both men enjoyed slightly different pre-match rituals but the cameras combined them, with Fernandes gloriously in mid-flight stretching above the head of his Mexican team-mate.

Lukaku loves playing the Hammers

Manchester United's powerful forward seems to enjoy lining up against West Ham. 

The Belgian has netted 11 times in all competitions against the Hammers, more than any other team in the country. 

He'll wish he could take on Slaven Bilic's side every week but the former Everton man will be brimming with confidence after the season opener.
