And the German international stayed true to his colours by playing as Arsenal against north London rivals Tottenham on Monday night.

The Arsenal star took to Instagram to let his 13.5million followers know what he was up to, captioning the photo 'Evening activity #NorthLondonDerby #PES2017 #home.'

Ozil is clearly already looking forward to playing Tottenham in the Premier League but he will have to wait until Sunday, November 19 to come up against Arsenal's rivals.

However, the derby will be played on Saturday, November 18 in the event that Mauricio Pochettino's side are participating in the Champions League on Tuesday, November 21.

The German World Cup winner is currently unwinding following his exertions in Arsenal's dramatic and enthralling 4-3 victory over Leicester on Friday night.

Olivier Giroud's late header clinched the three points for the Gunners on Friday at the Emirates ahead of their trip to Stoke this coming Saturday.

28-year-old Ozil is out of contract at Arsenal next summer but it is expected he will sign a new £300,000-a-week deal.
