Barcelona suing Neymar for £7.8m

CHRIS CUTMORE: Barcelona are suing Neymar for €8.5million (£7.8m) over an alleged 'breach of contract' caused by his world-record £198m transfer to Paris Saint-Germain.

The club are demanding Neymar return a loyalty bonus paid after he renewed his Barcelona contract last October, less than a year before he signed for PSG.

Barca are also demanding an additional 10 per cent of that €8.5m as 'interest' they claim is owed due to a delay in repaying them the sum. The club say a lawsuit was first served to the player on August 11.

They are demanding that PSG pay the sum if Neymar is unable to.

Chelsea consider Gueye as an alternative to Leicester's Drinkwater

SIMON JONES: Chelsea are considering Everton's Idrissa Gueye as a possible alternative to Leicester midfielder Danny Drinkwater.

Leicester want £40m for Drinkwater but Chelsea are only willing to part with £30m for Drinkwater and Gueye has emerged as another option for the Blues.

Gueye interested Antonio Conte earlier this summer but with the club focussed on signing Romelu Lukaku, who eventually joined Manchester United, from Everton they cooled their interest knowing it would be far more difficult to sign two players from Goodison Park.

Everton would be reluctant to sell but a big offer could tempt them.

Atletico Madrid chasing Real's Llorente

Atletico Madrid are interested in signing 22-year-old midfielder Marcos Llorente from their city rivals Real Madrid, according to AS.

And Atletico have been keeping their eye on the former Spain Under 21 international - though prising him away from the Bernabeu could prove a tough task.

Zinedine Zidane wants to keep Llorente as a back-up option to Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, Casemiro and Mateo Kovacic - he came off the bench in Real's 3-0 win over Deportivo on Sunday.

'We carry on with them. All the time we’re talking about the speculation. We’ll carry on as normal until I’m told otherwise,' Shakespeare said.

Elliot: Newcastle transfer talk 'unfair on current squad'
