Jeremie Boga heads for Birmingham on loan after signing a new three-year contract at Chelsea

Chelsea starlet Jeremie Boga has become the next player to leave the club on loan, join Championship side Birmingham.

The 20-year-old, who started the club's first game of the season against Burnley, moved to St Andrews after signing a new three-year contract at Stamford Bridge.

Boga has previously headed out for loan spells in Spain and his native France, but will now get a taste of regular football in England.

The midfielder featured during the Blues' pre-season tour in Asia, coming on for the injured Pedro against Arsenal.


He was then handed a Premier League chance against Burnley earlier this month, but was hooked after just 18 minutes in order for the side to reshuffle following Gary Cahill's red card.

Boga has previously enjoyed loan spells at Rennes and Granada, but is now joins up with Harry Redknapp at Birmingham.

They have won just one of their opening five matches and sit 20th in the Championship table.

They were beaten 2-0 by Reading last time out and Boga could make his debut against Norwich following the international break.
