Chelsea fear Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is stalling on a £35million move to Stamford Bridge.

Arsenal have accepted an offer from their London rivals but the 24-year-old remained at St George's Park on Tuesday, training with England ahead of Friday's clash against Malta.

England manager Gareth Southgate wants Oxlade-Chamberlain's pending move to be completed as swiftly as possible to ensure he is fully focused during the international window.

Tuesday would have presented the Gunners star with the perfect opportunity to complete his switch to the Premier League champions, yet he stayed in Burton.

And the delay is concerning Blues chiefs as they look to get a deal for the midfielder over the line.

Liverpool have a concrete interest in Oxlade-Chamberlain and are ready to hijack Chelsea's move for the Arsenal star.

However, it remains to be seen whether Arsenal are willing to sell Oxlade-Chamberlain to the Anfield.

The two clubs have a frosty relationship following Arsenal's pursuit of Luis Suarez in 2013.
