Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho in London to complete move to Crystal Palace as they agree £26m deal

Mamadou Sakho is in London as he nears completion on his move to Crystal Palace.

Liverpool and Palace have agreed a £26million deal for Sakho, who spent last season on loan at Selhurst Park.

He made eight Premier League appearances before his loan was ended prematurely by a knee injury.

This move represents excellent business for Liverpool, who have made an £8million profit on the 26-year-old.

Sakho acquired a cult following at Anfield but, in truth, his performances never merited the praise he received.

He was billed as 'a marquee signing' when Liverpool secured him from Paris Saint Germain four years ago.

Sakho spent pre-season at Liverpool but has not been involved so far this season.
