Brighton have gone back to Deportivo with a last-ditch £17.8m bid for striker Florian Andone.
With Lucas Perez heading to Spain this evening to conclude his loan deal from Arsenal, Deportivo are now considering the possibility of letting Andone go this summer.
Chris Hughton has already had one offer knocked back, worth around £14m.
Brighton have made a £17.8m offer in their efforts to sign Deportivo striker Florin Andone
Deportivo's position is complicated as they only have the economic rights to 70 per cent of the player, with Cordoba retaining the remaining 30 per cent.
With Depor keen to take around £15m for themselves, this means Brighton may have to stretch towards £20m to strike a deal.
However, Deportivo's stance may now soften with Perez seemingly in the bag.
For this to happen, the Spanish club want to add another striker in addition to Perez as back-up options.
Leonardo Pavoletti, Diego Rolan and Nicolas De Preville were all options but they have now joined different clubs.
Deportivo only own 70 per cent of Andone's economic rights, with Cordoba owning the rest
