Wilfried Bony completes £12m return to Swansea from Manchester City... four years after he first joined the club for the same fee

  • Swansea have signed Wilfried Bony from Manchester City on deadline day
  • The striker rejoins the club he left for the Etihad two and a half years ago
  • He commands a £12m fee and shared a picture of himself signing his contract
  • That is the same price Swansea paid Vitesse Arnhem for his services in 2013

Four years after joining Swansea City for £12million, Wilfried Bony has done it again.

The Ivorian striker ended a difficult two-and-a-half season stay at Manchester City on deadline day by returning to the club where he made a major impression in the Premier League following his move from Holland.

In 2013, Bony swapped Vitesse Arnhem for the Liberty Stadium and excelled to such an extent that he was snapped up by City for £28million.

Life at the Etihad Stadium proved to be somewhat trickier for the forward, however, and after scoring just 10 goals for City - and spending time out on loan at Stoke - he has gone back to south Wales.

Bony shared a picture of himself signing his new Swans deal on Instagram on Thursday.

In the accompanying caption he wrote: 'THANK YOU TO THE FANS OF @mancity & @stokecity YOUR SUPPORT HAS HELPED ME THE LAST FEW YEARS. EXCITED TO BE BACK HOME WITH @swansofficial'.
