FIFA 18 player ratings: Chelsea star Diego Costa and Alexandre Lacazette in 80 to 61 ranking while Petr Cech is better than Real Madrid's Keylor Navas

Wantaway Chelsea striker Diego Costa may not be making an impact on the pitch but he has been given a higher FIFA 18 rating than Arsenal's big summer buy Alexandre Lacazette.

And despite Costa being away from his place of employment, the creators of FIFA - EA Sports - have decided to give him a high work rate when it comes to attacking.

Ahead of the new game being released on September 29, FIFA have announced the 80th to 61st ranked players in the world, following on from Tuesday's revelation of No 100 to 81.

The Premier League is well represented. Costa is the highest placed star from the English top flight, in 63rd and with a rating of 86.


Jan Vertonghen (80th) - 85, Cesar Azpilicueta (76th) - 85 - and Lacazette (70th) - 85 - are all in the new ranking.

There is also a place for Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech, rated 86, who has been named the 66th player in the world according to the new edition of FIFA.

That means he is higher placed than Real Madrid stopper Keylor Navas, considered by many to be one of the best goalkeepers in the world but only 73rd in the chart and with a lower rating of 85. 

Other big names included between 80th and 71st include Angel Di Maria (79th), Barcelona's Jordi Alba (74th) and Champions League winner Casemiro (71st).

Pepe has been given 68th place despite leaving Real, while there are places in 65th and 64th for Bundesliga players Javi Martinez and Marco Reus. 

Bayern Munich winger Franck Ribery is now the highest rated player in the game that has been announced so far, with a rating of 86.
