Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois scores wondergoal in training as he gears up for Leicester City showdown

An unlikely hero may have emerged in Chelsea's bid to find a new centre forward.

The Premier League champions failed to land Fernando Llorente on the final day of the transfer window and there are no signs as yet that Diego Costa will be returning to training anytime soon.

But the answer to their striking crisis may have been under their noses the whole time. At least, it is if you ask Thibaut Courtois.

The Stamford Bridge shot-stopper is more used to getting his gloves dirty but showed what he can do with his boots too as he stunned team-mates with an incredible volley during training.

Fooling around with his fellow goalkeepers, the Belgian connected perfectly with a cross from the right hand-side, swinging his right foot at the ball and sending it soaring into the roof of the net via the underside of the bar.

Courtois seemed as stunned as the rest of his team-mates, including Eduardo Carvalho who was in goal for the effort.

With a bemused Willy Caballero also watching on the No 1 decided to celebrate, sliding on his knees in front of one of the trainers.

It may be come of some relief to Antonio Conte that he appears to have a plan B up his sleeve after all.
