Tom Heaton suffers suspected dislocated shoulder in Burnley's victory over Crystal Palace as Sean Dyche fears his goalkeeper will be out for 'months'

Burnley's England international goalkeeper Tom Heaton suffered a suspected dislocated shoulder in Sunday's 1-0 win over Crystal Palace and could face months on the sidelines, Clarets manager Sean Dyche said.

The England international landed awkwardly on his shoulder as he made contact with team-mate Ben Mee after claiming the ball in the air in the 36th minute of his side's game at Turf Moor.

Dyche revealed after the game that he believes Heaton suffered a dislocated shoulder, which he fears could sideline his goalkeeper for a number of months.

'It is a suspected dislocated shoulder. We will have to see, if it is that then it is not weeks, more like months,' Dyche after the game.

The 31-year-old was substituted in the 36th minute of the clash against struggling Palace and was replaced by Nick Pope, who came on to make his Premier League debut.

Substitute shot-stopper Pope took to the Turf Moor pitch with his side 1-0 in front on Sunday afternoon, and they went on to win by the same scoreline.

An early goal from Chris Wood in just the third minute, following a calamitous back-pass from Lee Chung-yong, gave the hosts the perfect start.

Palace roared back into life but, despite 22 shots on goal, they couldn't beat Heaton or Pope.
