Burnley 1-0 Crystal Palace: Five things you missed as we meet football's most terrifying fan, Wayne Hennessey goes wandering and is Roy Keane in line for a Premier League comeback?

Defeat at Turf Moor for Crystal Palace cost the Eagles more than just points. The result – their fourth straight loss this season – has replicated their worst start to a season in 92 years after they went down 1-0 at Burnley.

While Frank de Boer's side travelled to Burnley in the hope of kick-starting what has been a torrid start to the Premier League campaign, his side got off to the worst possible start when Lee Chung-Yong played a perfect defence-splitting ball through to Chris Wood inside the first five minutes, who obliged and netted for Burnley.

After another poor result for the Eagles and one of the best through-balls you will see all season, Sportsmail's JAIME WRIGHT brings you five things you missed from Turf Moor.

Roy Keane eyeing Premier League return?

While the current Republic of Ireland assistant boss was most probably in the stands to watch Burnley's Robbie Brady and Stephen Ward in action, could the ex-Sunderland manager be weighing up Frank de Boer's job?

After his side's fourth defeat on the bounce, the Dutchman's ship appears to be sinking fast and there's only so many blows the Palace boss can take.

Keane's Ireland team are in danger of missing out on a World Cup play-off place to Wales should results not go their way in October. And should Ireland fall short, might he be looking to jump ship? Nothing is definite, but worth a thought.

Burnley fan shows his true colours

From Nightmare on Elm Street to Nightmare at Turf Moor. The defeat was horrific enough for Palace, but one fan appears to have gone one step too far with his match-day attire.

It's probably one of the most terrifying images of a football fan you are likely to see this season.

The claret and blue stripes and 'BFC' lettering across what can only be a die-hard Burnley supporter aren't the issue here. But are the football contact lenses a step too far? Absolutely.

Wayne goes wandering

In a game full of weird and wonderful occurrences - namely Lee's ludicrous through-pass to Wood for Burnley's opener and the aforementioned fan - Palace goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey certainly deserves a mention.

The Welsh goalkeeper got himself in something of a pickle after being caught off-guard by his team-mate Lee's pass to opposition striker Wood, and clearly Hennessey had no hope in recovering from that.

The 30-year-old goes stiff as a pencil as he wanders out of his penalty area and must subsequently try to head the ball clear. To his disappointment, he failed and all that was left was a bizarre image of his dive. Oops.

Palace breaking all the wrong records

While De Boer would have been hoping for some good news after another frustrating game, breaking records wouldn't have cheered the Dutchman up.

The defeat has replicated the Eagles' worst start to a league campaign in 92 years and therefore puts his side one more straight defeat away from a very unwanted record.

Palace now sit 19th in the Premier League, and should West Ham claim their first win of the season against Huddersfield on Monday night - or even draw - they will slip to rock bottom of the top flight.

Wood's getting around

While Chris Wood scored the all-important first goal for Burnley, and what turned out to be the decisive goal, it marked his sixth appearance against the Eagles… but for a sixth different club.

Wood has represented Birmingham, Millwall, Bristol City, West Brom and most recently Leicester against the Eagles, but with no such luck. Until now.

The 25-year-old had scored just once against Palace until Sunday's victory, but couldn't have asked for a better chance to end that scoreless run of three games.

Lee's horrendous back-pass was happily pounced on by the New Zealand international, firing Burnley to victory at Turf Moor.
