Frank de Boer aims to stay at Crystal Palace 'for a long time' despite losing fourth game in a row: 'Performance gives me a lot of hope for the future'

- The defeat leaves Palace pointless and goalless in the relegation zone
- Frank de Boer has come under increasing pressure but remains resolute
Frank de Boer is still not contemplating the sack at Crystal Palace despite his side's miserable start to the season continuing with defeat at Burnley.
Chris Wood's early strike settled the contest in the Clarets' favour at Turf Moor, leaving Palace pointless and goalless after four games of the new Premier League term.
De Boer's job is under threat but the Dutchman remains resolute, saying that his team's efforts in Lancashire give him 'a lot of hope' for the future.
Frank de Boer watched his Crystal Palace side lost their fourth Premier League in a row
His side have endured the worst four-game start to a Premier League season by any team
'I cannot believe we lost, there is still frustration about the result but not about our performance,' he said after watching Scott Dann miss a golden chance to equalise in the 88th minute.
'The goal we conceded was very disappointing, we have given a lot of sloppy goals away already and that was even worse.
'We showed what we really can do – and I already said I will sign directly for every game if we are going to create so many open chances against any team.
'We did not give much away, controlled the game and you have to reward yourself by scoring goals. That is what football is about.
De Boer is coming under increasing pressure but is still looking towards the future
'I am not disappointed about the performance and it gives me a lot of hope for the future – I said straight after after to the boys that if you do like this you will get your goals and your rewards.'
The Eagles' four-game record is the worst in Premier League history and Palace are understood to already be looking at potential replacements for De Boer.
However, the former Inter Milan boss isn't thinking about leaving the club he joined in the summer.
'The only thing I can control is to work very hard with the boys and that is what I am going to do and hopefully for a long time,' he said.
'I saw the team fighting for each other and playing with more confidence and that is what I want.
'The only thing we didn't do was score.'
The Palace manager insisted that there were reasons for optimism in his side's performance
