Ederson trained once again with his Manchester City team-mates ahead of their Champions League clash with Feyenoord on Wednesday.

While Ederson's involvement in City training on Tuesday would have delighted Guardiola, the Spanish manager will have been disappointed that captain Vincent Kompany missed the session.

The centre back was City's only absentee at training after suffering a calf injury while on international duty with Belgium.

The City captain picked up the injury against Gibraltar on August 31 but carried on playing, with the decision made even more bizarre by the fact that Belgium crushed their opponents 9-0.

Kompany was also absent from City's emphatic 5-0 victory over Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool side at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Kompany's latest setback is his 15th injury in just five years and the 31-year-old will be hopeful of just a very short spell out on the sidelines this time round.

Meanwhile, Guardiola will be desperate for his side to get off to the perfect start in Group F on Wednesday before they face Shakhtar Donetsk at home on Tuesday, September 26.
