Chelsea legend Frank Lampard insists Eden Hazard can get to the level of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi as Glenn Hoddle says Antonio Conte's can compete on all four fronts

Chelsea legend Frank Lampard believes Eden Hazard can reach the same level as Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

Hazard replaced Pedro in the 58th minute of Chelsea's 6-0 win over Qarabag in their first Champions League group stage game of the season on Tuesday night.

Lampard, appearing as a pundit on BT Sport, was asked whether Chelsea had enough depth in their side to compete in Europe's most prestigious and the Premier League.

He said: 'I think they do. They're the unknowns. We talk about [Alvaro] Morata being their main man. He's the form man and he needs to stay injury-free, especially for sure.

'They are very well drilled. I do fancy their chances of going far because they are so well drilled and can defend, which we kept talking about before.'

The 39-year-old then focused on Hazard - a player he feels is one of the best in the world.

'A great plus today with [Eden] Hazard who came on at the weekend and came on again today,' he said. 'I feel that he'll be involved at the weekend and going forward. He's the magic in the Chelsea team.

'If Eden Hazard's on his game he's got the magic that we talk about with the Messi's and Ronaldo's - he can get towards that level.'

Blues boss Antonio Conte was praised by Hoddle, who was also appearing as a pundit on BT Sport.

The former England manager insisted that Conte's side are capable of being competitive in not just the Premier League and Champions League but also the FA Cup and League Cup.

He said: 'They've got a squad now that goes really deep. They can challenge on four fronts probably Premier League and Champions League as priority, but they've got the squad now to do that.'

He did add, however, that Qarabag were nowhere near the standard of the Blues.

'They have taken this side to the sword, they were poor defensively,' he said. 'Qarabag were awful defending. There are teams in the Sunday League who would defend more organised than that.'
