Newcastle United midfielder Sean Longstaff is attracting interest from rival Premier League clubs following his goalscoring exploits at Blackpool.

The 19-year-old midfielder is on loan at the League One club and has become a crowd favourite with four spectacular goals.

His performances have earned praise from manager Gary Bowyer and alerted other clubs who are posting scouts at Blackpool's games, including at Saturday's game against Oxford United.

Longstaff, who signed a new contract extension with Newcastle in the summer, is on loan until January and Blackpool are keen to agree an extended loan until the end of the season but could face stiff competition.


Parent club Newcastle beat Stoke City 2-1 at St James' Park on Saturday, while Longstaff played in Blackpool's 3-1 victory against Oxford United.
