Fresh from their Premier League stalemate with Arsenal, Chelsea's attentions now turn to the Carabao Cup.

And ahead of that third-round tie, Chelsea manager Antonio Conte put his side through their paces in training on Monday.

Cesc Fabregas, Gary Cahill and Eden Hazard, who were all involved in Sunday's 0-0 draw with Arsenal, were among those who took part in the session at the club's Cobham training ground.

Hazard looked to be full of running as he builds up his fitness after overcoming a broken ankle this summer.

The Belgian playmaker could make his first start of the season as a result on Wednesday.

The 26-year-old's compatriot Michy Batshuayi was also present during the session and could start up front at Stamford Bridge in midweek.

Promising young talents Charly Musonda, Jake Clarke-Salter and Ethan Ampadu also staked a claim for midweek selection during training.

Reserve goalkeeper Willy Caballero is a possible starter in goal for the visit of Forest if regular No 1 Thibaut Courtois is rested.

One player who won't be available is David Luiz, due to a three-game suspension starting on Wednesday, but Courtois believes the squad can cope without his absence.

'We play Forest in midweek so it's one less game in the Premier League, but the manager may have rotated David anyway,' he told the club's official website.

'It's a blow because David has been playing really well since he arrived last season.

'He's a great player and a great leader but we have confidence in the other guys as well. He will be missed but we have good players on the bench.'
