He is starting to show signs of developing one of the most devastating strike partnerships in the Premier League, but the rapport Gabriel Jesus has with his close family and friends remains unrivalled.

The Manchester City forward has been striking fear into defences alongside Sergio Aguero this season, but Jesus demonstrated the impenetrable love and affection he has for his family and friends on Tuesday night.

The 20-year-old is likely to be rested in City's Carabao Cup third-round tie against West Brom on Wednesday, and he took time away from preparations for the weekend clash against Crystal Palace with a night on the town.

Jesus' friend Higor Braga turned 19, and the City star was keen to celebrate in style as he went for dinner with a small group of close friends, his mother and brother at San Carlo's in Manchester city centre.

The former Palmeiras striker posted a series of shots from the evening, with his mother Vera Lucia seen on the phone at the dinner table and the group offering their felicitations to the birthday boy.

In another short clip, Jesus is seen wearing a cap playing a tambourine and joking to his friend that he will eat his birthday cake, while the Brazil star's brother is also seen singing while playing a guitar.

Jesus was keen to troll Braga on his special day with a series of cringeworthy pictures from his earlier years, with him looking particularly youthful while eating at McDonald's on one occasion.

Jesus has been in blistering form at the sharp end of the City side so far this campaign, scoring five goals in his last four appearances in all competitions.

The Etihad club are set to offer him a new £140,000-a-week contract, doubling his current wages to bring him more in line with City’s other first-team stars while fending off future interest from the likes of PSG, Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Meanwhile, Pep Guardiola will be keen to continue the side's good form in the Carabao Cup at The Hawthorns, but he is likely make wholesale changes to face Tony Pulis' men without weakening the starting line-up.

Two of last season's stars, Leroy Sane and Raheem Sterling, have only started one and two games respectively this term and might see more action.

Other options include summer signing Danilo, who has sat out the last two games after being involved in the first four.

The Brazilian defender, a £26.5million recruit from Real Madrid, is enjoying the competition for places at the Etihad Stadium and believes it will serve the club well in all competitions.

Danilo said: 'When you see Man City's squad with lots of quality players, the experienced mixed with the youth we have, that can only give us confidence for all the challenges we have to face this season.

'We are aware about the difficulty of the task. We know that every week we are going to have more games in our legs, we will be more tired, there will be unexpected things along the way, but hopefully we will be able to fight for all the trophies and manage to win as much as possible.'
