Austria defender Sebastian Prodl has agreed a new four-year contract with Watford, the Premier League club have announced.

The 30-year-old centre-back has scored three times in 61 appearances for the Hornets since arriving at Vicarage Road from German club Werder Bremen in 2015.

Prodl, who picked up the club's player of the season award for 2016-17, has featured twice so far this campaign.

'I am very pleased to sign a new deal at Watford,' said the 30-year-old.


'I hope to be back on the pitch soon and am looking forward to the next four years.'

The defender is currently sidelined after picking up a knock during Austria's 1-0 away defeat by Wales on September 2.
