Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang 'disappointed' after failed Real Madrid move: 'I have no more dreams, I will not talk about Real Madrid anymore'
- Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has scored five goals in five Bundesliga games
- The striker is now three games short of 200 appearances for Borussia Dortmund
- Aubameyang requested a transfer at the beginning of the summer
- The 28-year-old was linked with a move away to Real Madrid and AC Milan
- After deals failed to materialise the 28-year-old has been left 'disappointed'
Borussia Dortmund's goalscoring machine Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has admitted his frustrations after he failed to force a move out of Germany.
The Gabonese striker requested permission to depart Dortmund at the start of the summer and was heavy linked with moves away from the Westfalenstadion, with his dream club Real Madrid the front-runners to secure his signature, as well as AC Milan and Chelsea.
Unfortunately for the 28-year-old though, a move never managed to materialise, with Dortmund keen to keep hold of their prized forward.
Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang is 'still working hard' despite a frustrating transfer window
The Borussia Dortmund striker requested to leave the Bundesliga side in the summer
Speaking to RMC Sport, Aubameyang expressed his disappointment following a dream-crushing summer.
'I have no more dreams. I will not talk about Real Madrid anymore. I am happy at Borussia Dortmund, I feel like other clubs don't want to come close to sign me.
'People underestimate me but I will prove my worth. I am frustrated because Dortmund told me I could leave last summer. It didn't happen and I am disappointed but I am also happy here. It's not a problem, I'll keep working hard.'
Despite his claims he is not worth it, Aubameyang has been consistently hot in form since signing for the Bundesliga giants in 2013 from St Etienne.
But the Gabon international was left frustrated as moves to Real Madrid and AC Milan failed
Despite most of Europe's big clubs bending over backwards to secure his services
The forward, who is five for five in the Bundesliga so far this season, is now just short of 200 games for Dortmund and has scored a staggering 129 in his three seasons in Germany, and it seems he's ready for a new task. With Madrid out of the way, Milan came calling.
'AC Milan? They wanted me,' he said. 'We talked and their offer was good but in the end, somehow, the deal was not closed.
'I was very interested in the project, but it did not happen for various reasons.'
And although he was left frustrated, the 28-year-old claims he is 'happy' playing in Germany
