United travel to the St Mary's off the back of another impressive performance, this time against Burton Albion in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday.
They are still unbeaten in the league and will look to keep pace with Manchester City at the top of the table.
They face a difficult prospect in Southampton who have been beaten just once in the league so far this season but have struggled to score goals.

Jose Mourinho has no fresh injury concerns but does remain without Marcus Rojo and Paul Pogba, who is still nursing a hamstring problem.
The boss is likely to make changes to the team who beat Burton Albion in the Carabao Cup, with the likes of Romelu Lukaku and Nemanja Matic being rested for the game.
All eyes will be on Lukaku to see if he can continue his impressive goal scoring form since he joined the Old Trafford club.
