Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez has the X-factor... after refusing to sell in the summer, Arsene Wenger should pick him to start against West Brom

  • I was surprised Alexis Sanchez was left out by Arsene Wenger against Chelsea
  • After all Arsenal's stubbornness in refusing to sell the striker, why not use him?
  • If Arsenal want that X-factor in final third of the pitch then Sanchez is their man
  • Gunners should beat West Brom, but tough to imagine them as title contenders

I was surprised that Alexis Sanchez was left out by Arsene Wenger against Chelsea last week. After all Arsenal's stubbornness in refusing to sell the striker, why not use him?

But I don't think Wenger was trying to say there's no player bigger than the club by benching the Chilean. The manager maybe felt Sanchez wasn't up to speed. Still, I can't see him being left out against West Brom on Monday night, particularly with Danny Welbeck out.

If Arsenal want that X-factor in the final third then Sanchez is their man.

Alexis Sanchez has the X-factor - so why not pick him for Arsenal against West Brom?

I understand why people were asking whether he would give his all, but there's no point in the club going through all that effort to keep him and then trying to teach him a lesson.

Wenger wants him there and I admire his stance in keeping him. After all, how would you replace Sanchez? Having £70million is good but not as good as having Sanchez.

Arsenal lost 3-1 to West Brom at the Hawthorns last season, when Wenger's future was up in the air.

Where do I see him now? Under no pressure whatsoever. He dictates when he leaves, so that's the way it is.

A goalless draw against Chelsea doesn't change a lot and when you look at Manchester United, City and Chelsea, they'll be more consistent than Arsenal.

The Gunners should beat West Brom, but it's tough to imagine them as serious title contenders.
