It was by no means a classic, but Davies picked out Sissoko on the penalty spot and the midfielder manages to hold off his marker and stab the ball home.

It's nothing more than Spurs deserve, they've been beyond commanding in all aspects.

Three points rightfully heading back to north London.

It's bundled over the line by Sissoko, who scores his first PL goal for Spurs.

Ince whips in a lethal corner but Dier heads clear.

A second wave of a attack is broken up by Walker-Peters to send Spurs on a muted counter.

88mins: Cynical foul from Winks gifts Huddersfield a free-kick.

Lucky not to be given a yellow. 

Terriers attack quickly and win a corner...

And that's everything from Kane, who departs to a standing ovation to be replaced by Son Heung-Min.

Alli frees Sissoko who curls an effort on target, but the keeper is equal to it.

Kane is sniffing for a rebound, but it doesn't drop.

85mins: Now entering the final five and the Terriers are playing a possession game at the back.

The steady build up eventually finds Malone out wide, but his cross-cum-shot goes well over.

Kyle Walker-Peters comes on in place of Kieran Trippier.

Veteran Dean Whitehead comes on to replace Hogg.

79mins: Spurs winding up a little now, they know they've had this match won for some time.

Alli still linking up brightly with Kane and Winks. It still feels like there could be one final goal in this one.

74mins: Eriksen makes way for Frenchman Moussa Sissoko.

Lossl again pushing his luck.

The Terriers keeper jumps above Eriksen but palms the ball back into his box.

A bizarre move, as Eriksen is allowed straight back into the action. Luckily he can't slip the pass to a waiting Alli, and Huddersfield are let off.

Not the most solid day at the office for the 'keeper.

Meanwhile, Spurs are readying Sissoko.

69mins: A lapse of concentration from Spurs new boy Sanchez allows Huddersfield in.

Malone nips around the back and pings a ball from the byline, but Kachunga doesn't get his head to it.

The striker went in late on Vertonghen when trying to stop the Belgium volleying the ball clear.

63mins: Billing and Malone instantly link up with a long ball down the left.

Huddersfield still trying their luck by going in from wide, but Spurs are repelling them every time.

Scott Malone and Philip Billing come on to replace Chris Lowe and Aaron Mooy for the hosts.

59mins: Tottenham retain the ball in the middle before Vertonghen breaks through.

He fancies his chances and hits it, but it's well over.

The midfielder is linking up expertly with Eriksen and benefiting greatly from the return of the Danishman.

When they exploit the areas in the final third Spurs seem to be finding space from nowehere.

49mins: Dier heads it across to Kane who sees the ball slip through his legs.

He is human, after all. 

49mins: Terriers have come out more cautious but can't stop Spurs pressing forward.

A clutter in the box almost sees Kane stab it home. Tottenham corner.

And we're back under way. No changes for either side.

As Huddersfield clear their lines from the corner.

44mins: Spurs corner. Kane again found in the channel with plenty of space. His effort is put behind.

41mins: Spurs now looking to pen Huddersfield into their own half, but the home side have other ideas.

Depoitre breaks and smashes an effort from distance, which absolutely cracks the crossbar.

Kane punches the air in jubilation after scoring his second goal of the match at the John Smith's Stadium.

Kane has the ball in the back of the net again.... but he's offside.

It seems a matter of when, not if, Kane gets another hat-trick.

An incredible display by the striker so far.

35mins: Vertonghen clears with a powerful head.

The Terriers second line begins a supplementary attack, but Spurs hold strong. Immediate counter, as per.

33mins: La Parra bombs down the wing and reaches the byline.

Ince is begging for the cut back but his team-mate can't pull it off.

Huddersfield keep on the pressure and win a free kick on the edge. Mooy to take.

30mins: Spurs displaying a masterclass in counter attack.

They're happy to soak up pressure and hit the hosts on the counter, and this is why.

Alli hits the post after turning Jorgensen inside and out. It's too easy for Spurs, and Lossl could only watch helplessly as the upright saved his blushes.

28mins: A second corner for the Terriers as Trippier deflects Lowe's cross behind. 

Mooy took it short before whipping it in, only for Lloris to pluck it out of the air.

Huddersfield are still going at Spurs, but so far all their attempts from wide have come to little.

26mins: Huddersfield are shocked but they're still swinging. A high press sees them win a corner which Kane clears.

They're coming thick and fast.

Kane takes the ball on his chest on the edge of the area, dropping his shoulder to deceive his marker and come inside.

A glimmer of opportunity presents itself and Kane lashes the ball home from distance, an unstoppable effort.

He's now on for his second hat-trick of the week...

Harry Kane is absolutely on fire and this game is now out of reach.

19mins: A complete let off for Huddersfield.

Right up the other end goalkeeper Lossl messes around with the ball at his feet in the area.

Kane steals it and rounds the stopper, but the angle is against him.

The cut inside doesn't work and Huddersfield are safe... somehow.

18mins: Terriers bomb forward again and the home fans want a penalty.

It's been waved away, as Sanchez is seen as the innocent party. Kachunga was sent to ground and visibly feels aggrieved.

It was liquid football, it really was. 

Eriksen, Alli and Kane each linking up with some sublime, methodical football.

Nimble touches eventually played marauding full-back Davies through on goal, who beat the onrushing Lossl with a deft, slotted effort.

2-0 Spurs, and much deserved.

14mins: The Terriers are still coming at Spurs, and this game has remained open.

Smith keeps looking for big target man Depoitre at any opportunity.

It's a bold tactic, though Spurs look lethal on the break.

11mins: Spurs have their tails up now. 

Davies whips in a freekick from the Spurs left flank and the home side manage to clear their lines.

9mins: It was always going to be him.

The ball surged forward at pace and as soon as Kane was picked out everything looked like a formality.

The England international kept his composure to slot the ball into the bottom corner. Goalkeeper Lossl helpless.

And just like that Spurs press up the other end and score.

7mins: Spurs look rattled, and rightly so.

Tommy Smith has been a menace surging from full-back. His pass splits the Spurs defence and the follow up shot forces a corner.

They clear their lines, but just..

6mins: Welcome to the action, son. Jonathan Hogg leaves a bit on Harry Winks after crashing into the young Spurs midfielder. 

Ref plays action on. Huddersfield are in the mood for this one..

4mins: Tommy Smith lashes a shot at Lloris from distance.

The French stopper has to get a solid wrist behind it, as that was goal bound.

The decibels have risen again, the home fans are lapping up this courage from their side.

2mins: Jorgensen brings down Kane rashly, freekick to Spurs.

Trippier finds him in the middle and the striker forces a corner after turning back inside his marker.

The players have gathered in the tunnel and we're now just minutes away from kick-off.

Atmosphere is rowdy in the John Smith's Stadium.

The home fans think their side can take something here.

"For us the first six games were big contest as it's first time in Premier League in club history.

"We will know if we (can) beat one of top six of the teams who will play for the title, we're looking forward to it.

"We need to adapt and show them what we are."
