Manchester City are planning a further £20m bid for Alexis Sanchez in January.
And that could come as a boost to AC Milan, who are monitoring Sergio Aguero's situation at the Etihad Stadium ahead of a potential winter swoop for the Argentinian.
Sanchez has been a long-term target for City manager Pep Guardiola, who wants to bolster his stunning forward line. They are already the top scorers in the Premier League.

His arrival would raise questions over Aguero's place in the squad - and it was understood that Guardiola was willing to let the 29-year-old leave.
Aguero has already scored seven goals in eight appearances for City this season, leaving him on the cusp of matching Erik Brook's record of 177 goals for the team in blue.
But he is currently out of action after breaking a rib in a car accident in Amsterdam at the end of last month.

Sanchez is desperate to leave Arsenal after they failed to qualify for the Champions League or challenge for the Premier League last season.
His contract at the Emirates runs out at the end of the season, and he has no intention of penning fresh terms to stay in north London.
Manager Arsene Wenger was not willing to let him leave in the summer unless a swap deal could be put together for City winger Raheem Sterling.
City are understood to be the club best placed to snap up the Chile international.
