Brighton vs Everton moved to 1.30pm Sunday kick-off so it can be shown live in India... but game ISN'T on UK TV

  • Brighton host Everton at the Amex Stadium on Sunday, with kick-off at 1.30pm
  • Premier League games at 1.30pm on Sundays are usually shown on Sky Sports
  • However, the Toffees' trip to the south coast is not being broadcast on UK TV
  • Game was moved for international interest, with India's Star Sports picking it up

Everton's trip to Brighton this weekend will not be shown on UK television - despite it being moved to Sky Sports' traditional 1.30pm slot on Sunday.

Ronald Koeman's struggling side travel to the south coast looking for only their third Premier League win after an underwhelming start to the season.

But fans of both clubs who aren't at the Amex Stadium will be forced to wait until Match of the Day 2 on Sunday night to see highlights of the game.

Instead of broadcasting the top-flight clash, Sky will be showing the Championship match between local rivals Derby and Nottingham Forest as their early fixture.

It is understood that the decision to move Everton's trip from a Saturday 3pm kick-off to 1.30pm on Sunday was in case it was selected as the fifth match to be televised in the UK this weekend.

However, when it wasn't chosen, the Premier League decided against moving it back, leaving it available for international broadcasters.

Only India's Star Sports picked the game up, meaning it will be shown live at 6pm in Mumbai but not on Merseyside.

The lunchtime kick-off time also means an even earlier start for many of the 3,000 travelling fans, who already have a 542 mile round trip to contend with.

Both teams go into the game level on seven points, with Brighton sitting two places above their visitors in 14th by virtue of goal difference.
