Tottenham's new White Hart Lane edges closer to completion as single-tier South Stand begins to take shape ahead of next season

Tottenham have released the latest images of their new stadium as construction continues on the site of the club's old White Hart Lane ground ahead of the 2018-19 campaign. 

The club's official Twitter account posted fresh photos showcasing the progress made on their new 61,559-capacity ground, with the single-tier South Stand beginning to take shape.

Tottenham have been keeping supporters up to date by sharing regular updates on the new White Hart Lane, which will become the north Londoners home from the beginning of next season.

The new White Hart Lane is set to be the largest club football stadium in London, surpassing Arsenal's 60,000-seater Emirates Stadium. The single-tier South Stand alone will hold 17,500 spectators.

In addition to hosting home games, Tottenham announced last month that the new ground will also be able to hold NFL matches thanks to the world's first retractable pitch.

Spurs have been playing their home matches at Wembley this season and are set to break the Premier League's 10-year attendance record for Saturday's match against Bournemouth. 

Sportsmail understands that ticket sales for the match are closing in on the current attendance record of 76,098 - set when Manchester United beat Blackburn 4-1 at Old Trafford in March 2007.

Tottenham have provided fans with regular updates on the progress of their new stadium with weekly posts on Twitter

Despite the glamour of playing at the home of English football, Tottenham supporters may be relieved to return to north London after a poor record at Wembley so far this season.

Mauricio Pochettino's side are yet to win a Premier League match at Wembley, with two draws and one defeat from their three games so far this campaign. Though they have won matches in other competitions there this season - beating Borussia Dortmund 3-1 in the Champions League and Barnsley 1-0 in the EFL Cup. 

Tottenham's manager will be hoping Harry Kane, fresh off a Ballon d'Or nomination, can pick up where he left off and fire them to victory against Bournemouth on Saturday. 

Kane has netted an incredible 15 times in his past 10 games for club and country and scored consecutive match-winning goals for England in their final round of World Cup qualifiers during the international break.

Opponents Bournemouth have struggled so far with just one victory from their opening seven Premier League fixtures leaving them second-bottom heading into Saturday's clash.
