If everything goes well as far as Tottenham Hotspur are concerned, by this time next year they will have moved into their new 61,559-seater home.

For now, however, it is still a building site, stretching up into the North London sky from the ground where the old stands of their White Hart Lane home once stood.

This site was visited, for the first time, on Friday by Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino, accompanied by chairman Daniel Levy.

Asked about his first impressions, Pochettino - wearing a club branded hard hat and goggles for safety - said: 'I think it is amazing, beautiful, so difficult to find the words. I can say thank you to Daniel because the dream is amazing.

'I don't want to think too much because it's still a long way away and there are a lot of jobs to do, a lot of work, but I think it will be a dream come true.

'The stadium will be one of the best in the world. The people and the spirit of the people that work here, you can feel the passion they are showing in every single detail.'

The new stadium is edging closer to completion since work started last summer, with the single-tier South Stand beginning to take shape.

Tottenham have been keeping supporters up to date by sharing regular updates on the new White Hart Lane via social media.

The new White Hart Lane is set to be the largest club football stadium in London, surpassing Arsenal's 60,000-seater Emirates Stadium. The South Stand alone will hold 17,500 spectators.
