Jose Mourinho has revealed for the first time that he will not finish his managerial career with Manchester United.

The Old Trafford boss also hinted that he finds the prospect of working at Paris St Germain appealing.

‘The only thing I can say is that I am still a coach with worries, with ambitions and with the desire to do new things.’ Mourinho told French TV channel TF1.

Mourinho, who has had high-profile jobs in Portugal, Italy, Spain and England, conducted the interview in French and waxed lyrical about Paris. He was asked about the possibility of joining PSG.

‘My son who lives in London went to Paris to see a PSG match and he did not go to Manchester,’ Mourinho added. ‘Why Paris? Because there’s something special. Magic, quality, youth, it’s fantastic.’

The Portuguese, who joined United in the summer of 2016 following the sacking of Louis van Gaal, said he has a desire to try out ‘new things’ and that ‘something special’ was going on in Paris.

Mourinho joined United in the summer of 2016 on a three-year contract following the sacking of Louis van Gaal, and has guided United back into the Champions League. They are two points behind Manchester City after eight matches.

The French club are managed by Unai Emery, who agreed a two-year deal with a 12-month option in June 2016 when he succeeded Laurent Blanc.
