Everton 1-2 Lyon Europa League clash RESULT: Bertrand Traore snatches winner following mass brawl sparked by Ashley Williams at Goodison Park

The Toffees are bottom of the group - four points off a qualifying place and with it all to do in the second half of the group stage campaign.

Their next European match is against Lyon but will Koeman still be in charge by the time that comes around? It's only Arsenal next up at the weekend...

90+4min: Into the final two minutes and the ball is in the worst possible place for Everton. Near one of their corner flags and at the feet of Lyon players.

90+1min: Everton have five added minutes to grab an equaliser and prevent their Europa League campaign from looking in total ruins before the clocks have even gone back.

90min: Final change from Lyon as Tanguy NDombele replaces Depay as we prepare for stoppage time. Can Everton produce one final chance?

88min: This second half has been incredible. Chances at both ends as first Pickford rushes of his line to deny Ferri at his feat, before Everton go straight down the other end and Lopes does likewise to deny Calvert-Lewin again.

The Lyon keeper now needs treatment though so expect a hefty chunk of added time when you consider the brawl too.

86min: Dominic Calvert-Lewin goes close by forcing a point blank save from Lopes as Everton turn the heat up on Lyon in these final few minutes.

84min: Lyon dropping deep as Everton win a corner after Sandro's far post cross is turned behind.

81min: As we enter the final ten minutes the game has become rather open as Everton try and force the issue with a second equaliser. Lookman firing well over the bar from distance.

'Ashley Williams should definitely have seen red when he completely lost his head in the 66th minute. The initial offence, the push on goalkeeper, was a yellow, which the referee saw. The follow up was worthy of far more and I expect UEFA to act on video evidence.'

75min: Just what is going on at Goodison Park. Lyon looked a total mess following the scrap between the players and with their first real attack since they are back in front, with Bertrand Traore tucking home a near post cut-back.

'Lucky, lucky boy (Williams). That’s from one of your experienced players. He should have been off,' Sutton said on BT Sport.

'But I suppose if the referee didn’t see the punches, didn’t see the swinging arms then he couldn’t give a red card.’

72min: Nearly Williams again! Another Sigurdsson free-kick into the box just evades the defender before bouncing off the post, with a Lyon player then clearing over the bar. All of a sudden Everton are all over Lyon.

Lyon make a change as Maxwel Cornet replaces Maolida

69min: He shouldn't even be on the pitch, but Ashley Williams heads Everton back into the game after getting on the end of a Gylfi Sigurdsson free-kick. That scrap seems to have fired up Everton and caused Lyon to lose their heads.

67min: Final change from Everton as Sandro Ramirez replaces Mirallas.

64min: It has all kicked off out of nowhere! Ashley Williams pushes Anthony Lopes over after the keeper grabbed the ball and it leads to an all-out brawl in front of the supporters.

Williams is booked and he is highly fortunate it's just yellow as a punishment as he was lashing out at Lyon players with his arms. Totally out of control.

61min: A first change for the visitors as the goal scorer Nabil Fekir departs to be replaced by Jordan Ferri.

60min: On the hour and apart from that five-minute flurry at the start of the second period, Everton haven't really offered anything to give their fans hope of launching a comeback.

57min: Morgan Schneiderlin has picked up a knock for Everton and he cannot continue as he limps off the field. Ronald Koeman makes an attacking switch to compensate by sending on Gylfi Sigurdsson.

55min: Everton have lost their way in the last five minutes. Michael Keane gives the ball away to Fernando Marcal, and that results in Lookman hacking down the left-back and picking up the game's first yellow card.

53min: And it's Maolida again! This time the forward overloads on the left to collect a pass but after charging into the box sees his shot crucially blocked behind by Schneiderlin. Everton's fast start has suddenly been checked.

52min: How to run into trouble, a quick guide by Myziane Maolida. The Lyon forward is in acres of space as he picks up the ball in the Everton half but after charging towards goal simply runs into the challenge of Ashley Williams.

49min: Plenty of Everton possession at the start of this half as they take the game to Lyon. The exact opposite to how they started the evening.

46min: And already Lookman nearly makes an instant impact, reaching out at the back post to hook the high ball towards goal only for Lopes to parry the ball behind.

An interesting change from Ronald Koeman as Ademola Lookman's pace has been called upon as he replaces Davy Klaassen.

Perhaps Everton's most likely avenue of getting an equaliser in this match comes through Kevin Mirallas, who looked the liveliest among those in the blue shirts in the first period.

The Belgian has had a couple of decent efforts for the hosts and providing he can maintain his first half levels I would back Everton to grab an equaliser at some point.

Everton came into this game low on confidence and conceding a penalty as well as a goal little more over five minutes into the match set up a serious test of character.

It's not one Everton have particularly passed in flying colours but the Toffees got better as the half improved, enough to a point that I'm convinced they are capable of getting back into this match during the second period.

45min: Everton have looked better in the last 15 minutes from an attacking view but they remain far from convincing at the back as Traore cuts inside from the right before curling wide across goal.

42min: Brilliant football from Lyon. Why did we hardly ever see this from Depay in his Manchester United days? The Dutchman plays a one-two in the centre of the pitch before burning through on goal and seeing his low shot saved by Pickford.

40min: Another top save from Lopes, who dives low to his left to keep out a decent strike from Davy Klaassen after Marcelo had given away the ball.

37min: So much for Everton building momentum. As the rain hammers down on Merseyside, Schneiderlin concedes a free-kick 35 yards out.

The set-piece is charged down by Davies but the ball deflects wickedly towards goal before cannoning off the angle of post and bar with Pickford left helpless.

34min: And that's lifted the home fans too. As a result of that Everton seem to be growing in confidence and win a free-kick inside the Lyon half after Mirallas is bodychecked by Lucas Tousart. Lyon clear the set-piece but Everton are coming back into this.

32min: Finally some Everton life! It's only taken half-hour. Davies plays a delightful through ball into the box for Kevin Mirallas who from an angle sees his shot well blocked behind by Lopes. Bay far Everton's best attack.

29min: Silly foul. Tom Davies is lucky to escape a booking after a cynical bodycheck on Bertrand Traore.

28min: The lack of confidence in this Everton team is alarming. There is very little positive in their approach to this match, and many of the players look too scared to stand up and inspire the rest of the men in blue shirts. No leaders out there.

25min: Half-chances and nothing else for Everton as Morgan Schneiderlin just beats a Lyon defender to a loose ball 25 yards out before snatching a first time effort a good few yards wide.

23min: And there's a second shot, with Kevin Mirallas cutting inside from the left before firing low past the near post. Anthony Lopes though had it well covered.

20min: Just the one Everton shot so far. Nikola Vasic firing way over the bar. That's your lot Toffees supporters.

'Eerie atmosphere at Goodison; no fight or anger. Peter Reid said he worries whether this Everton team can scrap. His fears look well-founded.'

15min: Everton are seeing more of the ball now, and as they try to work their way into the Lyon box they are at least winning back the home support. It' snot much but the Toffees are pretty much starting from rock bottom here.

12min: Goodison Park is silent, at least among the home fans, as Ronald Koeman stands arms folded on the touchline looking rather concerned.

And so he should be, his side have not reacted to falling a goal behind as Lyon enjoy the freedom of Merseyside in these early stages... at least the blue half.

9min: Where do Everton go from here? They are all over the place Memhis Depay latches onto a through ball but before he can poke a finish past the onrushing Jordan Pickford , Ashley Williams gets across to make a crucial challenge.

6min: Dreadful, absolutely dreadful. Mason Holgate's stupid and lazy challenge on Fernando Marcal results in a penalty that not even he could protest and one that Nabil Fekir slots away comfortably.

3min: Everton have only won two of their last 11 games so it's no surprise to hear a few groans from the home fans as soon as they concede a corner. The Toffees though clear their lines though.

Olivier Giroud scored a brilliant late goal as Arsenal punished 10-man Red Star Belgrade and continued their perfect start to this season's Europa League. 

The France international won the game on 85 minutes - only five minutes after Milan Rodic had been sent off for the home side for two bookable offences.

After Theo Walcott and Jack Wilshere had exchanged neat passes in the penalty area, Giroud hooked the ball past Milan Borjan to secure all the points on a testing night for the away side in Serbia.

I'll be honest, looks like a normal hotel buffet to me.

JOE BERNSTEIN: Those who remember Memphis Depay's underwhelming 18 months at Manchester United may have rolled their eyes at the Dutchman's pronouncement this week that playing for Real Madrid is a 'serious goal'.

On Thursday night, Depay returns to the north west of England for the first time since being shown the door by Jose Mourinho, when his current French club Lyon face Everton in the Europa League.

Goals against Rennes, Apollon Limassol and Angers this season have clearly boosted his self-belief but there will be plenty of sceptics monitoring his performance at Goodison to see if he's changed from the winger who badly flattered to deceive at Old Trafford.

Five changes for Everton in total, with Phil Jagielka also dropping out of the 18 after playing at Brighton. Cuco Martina and Ashley Williams come in for Leighton Baines and Jagielka to make a back four also featuring Michael Keane and Mason Holgate.

Idrissa Gueye and Gylfi Sigurdsson drop to the bench in midfield. Tom Davies and Davy Klaasen getting the nod alongside Morgan Schneiderlin behind a front three featuring Kevin Mirallas, starting in place of Rooney, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Nikola Vlasic.

DOMINIC KING: Ronald Koeman admits Everton may be in a crisis but insists he retains the full support of the club's board and majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri.

Pressure has increased on Everton's manager as results have nosedived and they face Lyon on Thursday night in the Europa League before tackling Arsenal, Chelsea in the Carabao Cup and then Leicester City.

Fans' patience is running out but Koeman feels safe after a chat on Friday with chairman Bill Kenwright and Moshiri. 

'The feeling is that they are behind the team and they are behind the manager,' said Koeman. 'But in football finally it is all about results.'

Bookmakers have tipped Koeman to be fired for weeks and he admitted: 'Maybe I'm in crisis. Most of the time the manager doesn't get time to improve the team.

'I feel sorry for Craig Shakespeare at Leicester. He did a good job taking over from Claudio Ranieri.'

Ronald Koeman would probably prefer not to be welcoming Lyon, currently sixth in Ligue 1, to Goodison tonight. The under-fire Everton boss desperately needs a win and ideally would have preferred a less stiff test. A win, given the talent in the squad, is still expected but a defeat would do little to keep the wolves from the door.

Everton are currently bottom of Group E and have less points than Cypriot minnows Apollon Limassol after two games.
