Leicester vice-chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha flies to begin hunt for Craig Shakespeare's successor

Leicester vice-chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha flew in to watch his club earn a second Premier League victory of the season at Swansea and will now turn attentions to appointing Craig Shakespeare's successor.

Claude Puel has been spoken to about the vacancy and Manuel Pellegrini has also emerged as a contender, although the former Manchester City manager is on a lucrative contract at Hebei China Fortune.


Sporting director Jon Rudkin is leading the search and will report into Srivaddhanaprabha and his father, Vichai, the Leicester owner. The pair have been in the Far East but the younger family member jetted into South Wales to watch from the Liberty Stadium stands.

The interim manager, who left Oxford to become Craig Shakespeare's No 2 this summer, led the side to a valuable three points and has told club hierarchy he wants to see out his three-year contract as an assistant.

Leicester are not ruling out allowing a new manager to bring in his own staff, however. Puel was suggested to Leicester and a meeting was set up, with Pellegrini another under consideration having won the title at City.
