Mendy is slowly recovering after undergoing surgery on a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, suffered early on in City's 5-0 thrashing of Crystal Palace in the Premier League at the end of September.

Meanwhile, City captain Kompany is attempting to get back to fitness after injuring his calf playing for Belgium against Gibraltar in August.

And finally, Spanish youngster Diaz, who impressed on pre-season duty with City in the summer, is on the sidelines with a knee injury that he suffered in City's Under 23s' victory over Derby's at the weekend.

The trio will be cheering on their City team-mates on Tuesday night when Pep Guardiola's side host high-flying Championship outfit Wolves in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.

City and Wolves go into Tuesday's game full of confidence, with both sides sitting top of their respective leagues after very impressive starts to the season.
