Premier League title is not won yet, warns West Brom boss Tony Pulis after narrow defeat by Manchester City
- REPORT: West Brom lose 3-2 at home to Manchester City in the Premier League
- Pep Guardiola's side clinched their eight Premier League victory on Saturday
- Tony Pulis, however, has said the Premier League title race is far from over
- Pulis believes there are many hidden dangers that could derail City
Tony Pulis warned Manchester City that there is still a long way to go in the title race and plenty of obstacles to clear in the months ahead.
Pep Guardiola's side clinched their eighth Premier League win in a row at the Hawthorns to restore a five-point lead over Manchester United at the top of the table.
But Pulis believes that United's shock defeat at Huddersfield last weekend demonstrated the hidden dangers that could yet derail City's bid as they continue to challenge in four competitions.
Tony Pulis has warned Pep Guardiola that his side haven't got the title sewn up just yet
'There are a lot of things they have to overcome,' said the West Brom boss. 'It' s not in the bag yet – there's a lot to play for.
'The team across the road will be thinking that. Then there's Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham. There are six outstanding teams. You only have to look at the results in Europe to see how outstanding those teams are and the results against top teams in Europe.
'City are certainly one of the main contenders, but it's a long season. They're in all the cup competitions. They've got to be fortunate with injuries and the bounce of the ball.
City have now scored 35 Premier League goals this season after beating West Brom
'We've given them a game. There will be a lot of teams they will go away to when winter comes and you saw what happened when Manchester United went to Huddersfield and it was windy and wet.'
Pulis paid tribute to his players for their gutsy performance against their leaders, and is refusing to panic despite a run of nine games without a win in all competitions. Two of West Brom's next three matches are against Chelsea and Tottenham.
'The situation is we need to get a result. We want a result,' he added. 'We want to get our best team out there and a get the balance right. We still haven't done that.
'When we do and get them all together, we will be fine.'
There were some nervy moment for Guardiola's City on Saturday but they did enough to win
