But it was young German talent Sane who caught the Sportsmail columnist's eye on Wednesday night.
Speaking on BT Sport after the game, Keown said: 'It was a victory for free-flowing football.
'I was out of my seat for the Aguero goal and Sane reminds me of a young Ryan Giggs. He glides across the pitch.'
Aguero scored his 178th goal since joining from Atletico Madrid in 2011, making him the club's all-time leading scorer ahead of Eric Brook.

Former club captain Richard Dunne praised the improvements made by Guardiola since last season, where City finished a distant third in the league and exited at the last 16 stage of this competition.
He said: 'It's been such an improvement in the Champions League. City have been fixed this season. It was not the most flowing football but they wore Napoli down.'
Jermaine Jenas added: 'The celebrations showed it was a poignant moment. What do you do to stop them?
'Napoli are as good as it gets in terms of attacking play and City were just better at it.'
