Team news

Everton

Defender Michael Keane is expected to have recovered from a foot problem in time for Everton's clash with Watford on Sunday.

The Toffees will be without Cuco Martina, who has been given the all-clear after taking a bang to the head and neck during Everton's Europa League loss to Lyon but is expected to be sidelined for a couple of weeks as a precaution.

Wayne Rooney, Leighton Baines and Phil Jagielka all return to the squad after being rested for the trip to France as does Oumar Niasse, who is ineligible for European fixtures.

Provisional squad: Pickford, Robles, Kenny, Williams, Holgate, Keane, Jagielka, Baines, Baningime, Besic, Davies, Gueye, Mirallas, Schneiderlin, Sigurdsson, Lennon, Lookman, Vlasic, Klaassen, Calvert-Lewin, Sandro, Rooney, Niasse.

Watford

Watford captain Troy Deeney will miss the Premier League trip to Everton as he begins his three-match ban.

Deeney clashed with Joe Allen in the closing moments of Watford's 1-0 defeat against Stoke last weekend, and was dealt a retrospective suspension after admitting a charge of violent conduct.

Playmaker Roberto Pereyra misses out with a hamstring niggle, while defenders Sebastian Prodl (thigh) and Younes Kaboul (hamstring) are still sidelined, but boss Marco Silva hopes the duo, who have been out since early September, will return after the international break.

Provisional Squad: Gomes, Kabasele, Gray, Britos, Kiko, Cleverley, Holebas, Mariappa, Doucoure, Richarlison, Pereyra, Karnezis, Janmaat, Wague, Watson, Carrillo, Capoue, Okaka.

Key match stats (supplied by Opta)

Everton have lost just one of their eight Premier League meetings with Watford (W5 D2), with that defeat coming at Vicarage Road last season.

The Hornets have picked up just one point from their 10 previous league visits to Goodison Park (W0 D1 L9), with that solitary draw coming on the opening day of the 2015-16 season.

The Toffees last lost three consecutive Premier League games at Goodison Park in March 2016, under Roberto Martinez.

Excluding own goals, no side has had fewer goalscorers in the Premier League this season than Everton (two - level with Crystal Palace), with only Rooney and Niasse netting for them.

Watford have already won as many away Premier League games in five outings under Marco Silva, as they did in their 19 league games on the road under Walter Mazzarri last season (three).

Only Wayne Rooney and Oumar Niasse have scored for Everton the league so far this season

Players of 16 different nationalities have made a Premier League appearance for Watford this season; a wider spread than any other club in the competition.

Everton have handed a Premier League appearance to six different teenagers since the start of last season, two more than any other club in this period (Ademola Lookman, Mason Holgate, Nikola Vlasic, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Tom Davies and Ben Baningime).

Since scoring two goals from three shots on target versus Swansea City for Burnley in March 2017, Andre Gray has scored just two goals and attempted only three shots on target in his last 21 Premier League appearances combined, despite playing 1172 minutes overall in this period.

Watford forward Richarlison has made more touches in the opposition box than any other Premier League player in the opening 10 games of the season (74).

The Brazilian has been involved in more goals than any other Watford player this season (5), had the most shots (35) and shots on target (six) and no Hornets’ player has created more chances for the club (13).
