Aaron Ramsey insists France defeat will prove a learning curve for Chris Coleman's young Wales team

  • Wales fell to a 2-0 friendly defeat against France in Paris on Friday night
  • Antoine Griezmann and Olivier Giroud scored either side of half-time
  • Ethan Ampadu, Ben Woodburn and David Brooks made second-half cameos

Aaron Ramsey believes Wales' young players will benefit from facing France despite their Paris friendly ending in a 2-0 defeat.

Antoine Griezmann gave France an 18th-minute lead before Olivier Giroud's deflected effort in the 71st minute put the game to bed.

Ethan Ampadu, Ben Woodburn and David Brooks - aged 17, 18 and 20 respectively - all stepped off the bench in the 63rd minute and the triple substitution galvanised Wales.

Speaking to BBC One Wales after Friday's game, Ramsey said: 'They're a great team with so many options so it was a tough task for us tonight.

'We took a bit of time to get going but in the end we did create a few dangerous opportunities.

'It was always going to be difficult but it's great experience as well for the younger boys coming on.

'Hopefully now we can learn from this as well and get together now and build on it for what is going to be a very important European campaign.'
