Manchester City's young goalkeeper Angus Gunn has been called up to England's senior side for the first time.

The 21-year-old, who is on loan at Norwich this season, will join up with Gareth Southgate's side following an injury to Jack Butland.

The Stoke stopper broke his finger in training on Thursday, opening the door for Gunn to move from the Under 21s to the senior side.

The City loanee is the son of former Canaries goalkeeper Bryan Gunn, who made 390 league appearances for the club between 1986 and 1998.

Gunn will be England's third-choice keeper for the friendly against Brazil, behind Joe Hart and Jordan Pickford.

The latter was in goal against Germany on Friday night, keeping a clean sheet in an entertaining goalless draw with the world champions at Wembley.

Gunn was also in action, meanwhile, in a 2-0 victory for the Under 21s against Ukraine, but he will now leave the youngsters to join up with the senior side.
