Manchester United ponder 'selling Marouane Fellaini to Besiktas in £8m deal' to make room for Shakhtar Donetsk Brazilian star Fred
- Manchester United could sell Marouane Fellaini to Besiktas in January window
- Jose Mourinho has been told to trim the squad to make way for new signings
- One potential acquisition is Shakhtar Donetsk's Brazilian midfielder Fred
- Fellaini's contract is due to expire next summer, when he could leave for free
Marouane Fellaini will leave Manchester United in January as Jose Mourinho clears space in his squad for a pursuit of Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Fred.
Mourinho has been told he must sell before he can buy and so the big Belgian is set to move to Turkish club Besiktas for a fee of around £8million, according to the Sunday Mirror.
Fellaini is out of contract next summer and a January sale would allow United to recoup some money for him instead of seeing him leave for nothing.

His departure would pave the way for the arrival of Fred, an influential midfielder and Brazil international who has been attracting interest from a number of European clubs.
United would certainly be an attractive move for the 24-year-old, who has also been linked with moves to Spanish clubs Sevilla and Valencia.
Mourinho has been a big fan of Fellaini and praised him after the 1-0 defeat at Chelsea last weekend. But he is still looking to upgrade as United try and catch Manchester City at the top of the Premier League.
