Though an ankle injury ruled him out in recent weeks he is due to return to face Ajax this weekend.

The 6ft 3ins centre-back has been impressing scouts with his leadership qualities and composure on the ball.

Premier League and Championship sides are showing interest as they look to snap up a bargain in January with Mari understood to have a relatively low release clause.
