Newcastle defender Florian Lejeune says he was angry that Tottenham striker Harry Kane did not apologise for the challenge which left him with ligament damage.
The £8.7million signing from Eibar was just half an hour into his debut on the opening day of the season when he twisted his ankle following Kane's reckless lunge.
The injury kept Lejeune sidelined for more than two months and he has only just returned to the starting line-up.

And the Frenchman said: 'At first, I was angry. We all make mistakes, we all commit fouls but I think an apology would have been good, especially from such a great player, the England captain.
'It was a very difficult time for me because I had only just arrived here, a new club and a new country and I was trying to establish myself in the team.
'I had prepared very well and then suddenly I got injured and I was very frustrated.'

Kane was booked for the challenge, but Lejeune thought he should have been sent off.
'Yes, it was a red card,' he added.
'I do not think it was revenge or anything like that, just the way it was done and that there was no apology afterwards.
'Then again, that's football, things like this happen all the time.'
