Vincent Kompany says Manchester City's recent injury-time winners are helping them to become similar to Sir Alex Ferguson's United side

Vincent Kompany claims Manchester City's last-gasp wins are giving Manchester United a taste of their own medicine ahead of next weekend's derby at Old Trafford.
Twice in the space of four days, Raheem Sterling has scored late on to snatch vital 2-1 wins over Huddersfield and Southampton, and restore City's eight-point lead over United at the top of the Premier League.
Late goals were a hallmark of Sir Alex Ferguson's title-winning teams down the years, and Kompany is delighted the boot is on the other foot now.
Vincent Kompany has been left impressed by his side's winning mentality this season
'I have been in that position myself – United used to do it to everybody else to be honest!' said the City skipper.
'It's a long season. We have done it so far and if at the end of the season we have done it consistently, then I will be happy about it.'
However, Kompany is concerned about City's defending at set-pieces after they conceded a Nicolas Otamendi own-goal from a corner at Huddersfield and looked vulnerable against Southampton as well.
Raheem Sterling has scored two last-minute winners over the past four days for City
It has raised questions about how City will cope with United's height and power in the derby if Marouane Fellaini and Nemanja Matic are fit to play alongside the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
'You see how the game went against Huddersfield,' said Kompany. 'It was an own-goal from a set-piece that gave them the lead and set pieces-were a problem against Southampton. They had a lot of big bodies in there.
'At some stages, it is just a matter of size and power and we shouldn't get it into games where set-plays decide the game.
City boss Pep Guardiola celebrates his side's 2-1 victory over Southampton on Wednesday
However, Kompany expects United to be more adventurous despite Jose Mourinho adopting a safety-first policy against many of his top-four rivals in the past.
He added: 'If you tell me that they are going to set up the same way as Huddersfield and Southampton, then I will be very surprised. But maybe that's the way forward.'
