Manchester United legends Sir Alex Ferguson, David Beckham and Phil Neville promote World AIDS Day at Grassroot Soccer Gala in London

David Beckham, Phil Neville and Sir Alex Ferguson were some of the star-studded names attending the Grassroot Soccer Gala at 8 Northumberland Avenue on Friday.

The Manchester United legends rolled back the years as they posed for a photo together at the glitzy charity event in central London.  

Countdown co-host Rachel Riley, singer Anastasia and comedian Jack Whitehall were some of the other stars present at the charity gala.

Ferguson and Beckham have attended the glamorous event in previous years, along with the likes of Robert Pires and Freddie Ljungberg. 


Money raised at the event is spent on a range of unique football-based health education programmes in areas of the world severely affected by AIDS. 

Last year the event, which was held at Marylebone One, raised over £800,000 and featured a question and answers session with ex-United boss Ferguson.

World AIDS Day has been held on December 1 every year since 1988 and is dedicated to raising awareness of the deadly disease. 

Grassroot Soccer reaches over one million people in 50 different countries with adolescent-friendly health and sex education services. 

Beckham and Neville were members of the Class of 92' at United which dominated English football under Ferguson at the start of the Premier League era.
